Check the file

Before installing, compare this fingerprint with that of the file you received, for example with a SHA-256 checksum app. The page does not examine the file on your phone.

Install

1. Open this page on the phone

   On the Android phone (not a computer), open this page in Chrome and tap “Download the APK”. The file is large: Wi‑Fi is recommended.

2. Open the file

   Open waqtuna-preview.apk from Chrome’s download bar or from Files › Downloads. If Android blocks the installation, allow it for Chrome only.

3. Check before installing

   Check the name Waqtuna Preview and compare the SHA-256 fingerprint above. If you see an unexpected security warning, stop the installation instead of bypassing the alert.

4. Install, then open

   Confirm the installation, then open Waqtuna once to sync the prayer times.

Update

From 5.4 (build 54), the Preview’s “Update” button reads the version file published on this site: it reports that the app is up to date or, when a newer version exists, opens a page of this site that leads here. Older Previews open that page directly, without reading the version file.

Install the new version over the existing app without uninstalling it: with the same signature, your data is kept.

Before you install

• Older Debug-signed Preview

  If you already have a Debug-signed Preview, the installation will fail (different signature): first back up your data (Google Drive sync in the app), then uninstall the old Preview before installing this one.

• Separate from the Google Play version

  The Preview is a separate app from the future Google Play version (package com.noorapp.muslim). Neither updates the other, and the Preview cannot be replaced without uninstalling: to move to the Google Play version, you will install it separately, then uninstall the Preview after backing up your data.
