How to install an APK.

An APK is the installation file of an Android app. A few settings are enough, once per browser.

  1. Download on the phone

Open the app’s download page on the Android phone, in Chrome or your usual browser, then tap “Download”. Prefer Wi‑Fi for large files.

  2. Allow the installation

When you open the file, Android may ask you to allow installing unknown apps (“unknown sources”) for this browser. Grant it to that browser only; you can remove it afterwards in the settings.

  3. Check the fingerprint

Before installing, compare the SHA-256 fingerprint of the file you received with the one shown on the app’s page. If they differ, do not install the file.

  4. Update over the top

For a new version, install it over the existing app without uninstalling it: your data is kept as long as the signature stays the same. If Android refuses the update, the signature has changed: follow the app’s page.

Security.

Nothing is installed behind your back: you choose each file and Android asks for your confirmation.

  • SHA-256 fingerprints

Each APK comes with its SHA-256 fingerprint, computed on the published file, and a .sha256 file. A single different character means a different file.

  • Signing certificates

Android only accepts an update signed with the same certificate as the installed app. The fingerprint of that certificate is given for each app.

  • A showcase without tracking

This site uses no account, no ads, no audience measurement and no external resource. It works without JavaScript.

  • What the site does not do

The pages show the expected fingerprints; they do not check the file on your phone. That comparison remains yours to make.
